Drain Installation in Northeastern Pennsylvania
One Crew Handles Drain, Sewer & Excavation Work
Underground drain work starts with locating the pipe and assessing its condition before choosing a method. American Rooter is a family-owned plumbing, sewer, and excavation company serving residential and commercial properties throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. We keep video camera inspections, buried-pipe tracing, and excavation work within our crew for consistent oversight from start to finish.
Our in-house excavation division handles buried sewer and water line repair, replacement, and utility digs. We serve property owners across Northeastern Pennsylvania, including Wilkes-Barre and Freeland in Luzerne County.

When a Drain Needs Cleaning, Repair or Replacement
Drain installation creates or extends a drainage route when the current plumbing layout lacks the required connection or capacity. Cleaning, repair, and replacement address existing pipes. We use video camera inspection and line tracing to identify the route and internal condition before recommending an approach.
Each type of drain work serves a different purpose:
- Drain cleaning removes obstructions and accumulated material from an existing pipe.
- Drain repair addresses a damaged section while retaining the rest of the pipe.
- Drain replacement removes or abandons a failed pipe so a replacement can follow the required route.
- New drain line installation establishes or extends a route for wastewater or drainage where the property needs another connection.
A camera inspection can reveal cracks, root intrusion, sags, or collapsed sections. Depending on the route, access, and pipe condition, we may recommend trenchless rehabilitation, spot repair, replacement, or excavation.
